About the event
Experience the exquisite African cuisine and culture here in beautiful Belmont County with the talented Goree Drum and Dance Group from Columbus, OH, and the talented Chef Ryan Butler and his 'A Taste of Africa.' We will begin the evening with a social hour from 6 pm to 6:30 pm. At 6:30, dinner will be served while we hear from Museum Director Kristina Estle and Board Director Ron Scott. At 7 pm, Goree Drum and Dance will put on a fantastic dancing and drumming performance that will have you dancing in your chair. At 8 pm, we will raffle off our baskets during the Basket Raffle. The Underground Railroad Museum is a non-profit organization staffed with volunteers. The museum was founded in 1993 by Rosalind and Dr. John Mattox located in Flushing, OH. It takes donations from our visitors and monetary support from the community to keep the lights on and doors open. Black History is American History, and this place matters!
