ABOUT US
The Underground Railroad Museum is staffed with volunteers who make all things possible at this museum. We have an active an supportive board. The museum continues to serve not only the communities within the Ohio Valley Region but nationwide, with international visitors as well.
We hold numerous in-house programs and presentations, as well as a traveling presentation delivered by our Museum Director. This museum has 8,000 items. This place matters.

We have a very important mission here at Underground Railroad Museum - Ohio Valley: The Underground Railroad Museum exists to preserve and share American history and its connection to the Ohio Valley. We believe that through sharing each other’s heritage we can foster an abundantly rich life-experience promoting generosity as we do life together.

The Underground Railroad Museum aspires to encourage Americans to think about their lives in a different way through the sharing of each other’s cultures. Through this process, those who embrace our mission and vision will become more acutely aware of the commonalities shared with those among us.
